Our Constitution
1. The name of the club to be Church Football Club.
2. The aims of the club are: -
(a) To provide a means of entertainment and enjoyment through the game of football.
(b) To improve skills and methods of our players within the laws of the game.
(c) To boost self esteem, self discipline and physical wellbeing of all players.
(d) To help encourage community spirit.

3. The club will affiliate to the Lancashire Football Association each year and play according to their rules and regulations.

4. The affairs of the club will be managed by an executive committee, which shall meet every month or more frequent as required.
The committee shall consist of three officers of the club.
(i) Chairperson
(ii) Treasurer
(iii) Secretary

Voting rights will be restricted to committee members only. However, the committee will take into consideration the wishes of team managers. At each committee meeting the team manager from each of the Church Football Club teams may attend along with his/her assistant or representative, thereby allowing information discussed at the meeting to be passed amongst team members.


A Child Protection Officer shall be appointed by the committee, the Child Protection Officer position shall carry voting rights at normal committee meetings.

A Parent Representative shall be appointed by the committee, this post should run for a 12 months period, after the twelve month period has expired the post of Parent Representative shall be offered for election, to be considered for election a Parent must me nominated by the parent of another child from within the club, if no one is put forward to the committee for election the current Parent Representative shall maintain a further twelve months. If contested the parents of players will be polled, based on the nominees forwarded to the committee,voting will be based on 1 parents vote per child, the nominee with the most votes will be invited by the committee to take up the post, the position of Parent Representative shall carry voting rights in normal committee meetings.

5. No alteration of the rules may be made except at the AGM or at an extraordinary general meeting convened for this purpose.

6. An Extraordinary General Meeting shall be called within fourteen days, on the signed request of more than fifty percent of the executive committee.

7.Team managers will be selected by the executive committee after prior consultation with parents at the first meeting after the AGM

(b) The selected team managers will then be responsible for selecting their own assistants.


(c) The team manager and his/her assistant are responsible for all discipline whilst their players are representing Church Football Club.

(d) The team manager or his/her assistant must phone the result of their match within two hours of the game finishing; the match team sheet must also be filled in and returned to the secretary not later than that evening.

(e) It is the responsibility of the team manager and his/her assistant to collect the weekly subs, keep account of their players and provide the subs for collection by the treasurer.

8. Each child whilst representing Church Football Club either training or playing must have had an indemnity form signed and in the possession of their team manager.

9. Members wishing to resign should give notice in writing to the secretary before the first of May.

10. The financial year will end at the end of April each year.

11. The Annual General Meeting is to be held not later than the end of June each year.

At least fourteen days notice of the AGM must be given in writing to parents of the players of Church Football Club.

12. The treasurer shall keep an account of all in-come and expenditure. The bank account shall be in the name of Church Football Club and withdrawals shall be made in the name of Church Football Club on the signature of the following: -

(a)The treasurer

(b) Any assets remaining on the dissolution of Church Football Club after satisfying any outstanding debts and liabilities shall not be distributed amongst the members but will be given to a registered charity.

13. Church Football Club shall take out public liability insurance to cover all its activities.

14. Discretionary power is given to the executive committee to decide any circumstance not covered by this constitution.

15. Any motions or grievances should be forwarded in writing to a member of the executive committee who will then raise the matter at the next monthly meeting of the executive committee.
