The club was formed by Darren Haslam around the end of April 2004, at the time there was a group of children joining in a 'kick about' in Gatty Park, the main aim when setting up Church FC was to get kids playing competative football, whatever their abillity level.
So with the help of Mrs Ann Haslam, and Mr Martin Patton , Church FC was formed they and set an agenda to follow, one of the main ones being to create a new team every season, until Church FC get to the stage that they have a team for every age group, starting at Under 9 right through to Under 16, we dont know if this is going to be possible but we will try.
We entered a 7 a side team in The Accrington & District Junior Football League for the season 04/05, unfortunately we didnt score a single goal and lost everyone of our matches, no shame in that, we got out there and did it, and had a good time too.
Due to the success of that season (for it was) we were in a position to enter 2 teams for the season 05/06, Church FC was represented by Church Blue & Church White, both under 10's teams. Our teams did a little better that season with one finishing mid table and winning quite a few games, the other finished bottom but they scored.
In the season 06/07 we grew again, and entered 3 teams Under 9, and the 2 Under 11 teams. Once again we had 2 teams finish bottom, but scoring goals, and another 1 finishing in the top half of the table and scoring over 40 goals!
For the season 07/08 we were in a position to enter 4 teams, Under 9, Under 10, Under 11 all playing mini soccer 7-a-side, and the Under 12 who played their first season of "real" football at 11-a-side, This was the first season at Church FC that ALL teams registered a league win!
A group of 15 year olds approached Church FC in 08, asking if we could help them form a team, and get them playing competative football, we made them a promise that if they showed commitment, that we would help, so we bought them a strip from club funds, found them a manager and entered them in the league, they lost all but one, and won their last game of the season. So in season 08/09, five teams, entered the league.
That brings us up to date, in the season 09/10 we currently have 4 teams registered, and playing Saturday morning football.
